Instagram Live clash between Babyface and Teddy Riley was a total fail.
The highly expected Instagram Live battle within Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Teddy Riley didn’t roll out as expected Saturday night.
Problems with the audio, especially on Riley’s end, halted the faceoff within the two legendary producers that pulled more than 400,000 viewers. It looked as though Riley was planned for a concert, unlike Babyface, who was lying in a studio.
That may have been Riley’s defeat because all viewers understood was playback and echoes whenever it was his turn to play a song. The explanations were riddled with jokes about the two producers’ age — Riley is 53 and Babyface is 62 — and them not being able to use Instagram.

Comedian Lil Duval posted on his Instagram, stating Riley should use his iPhone to record rather than trying to set up a concert.
Radio host, Charlamagne Tha God inspired off some jokes, posting a meme of two older men at a computer saying it was Riley and his crew in the studio. Singer Toni Braxton was live-tweeting through the whole debacle, at one point saying that viewing the live feed was “like watching old folks use Jitterbug phones.

Entertainer Kevin Fredericks posted a parody of Riley’s play, emphasizing the playback and how Riley may have had a dance system ready.
The contest was supposed to start at 9 p.m., but by 10 p.m. it was manifest the audio needed to be set, so they stopped and told viewers to come back at 10:30 p.m.
But bits after 10:30 p.m., Babyface suggested it’d be sufficient to postpone the battle.
“Tonight was outstanding… it’s only right that we delay this thing and do it at a time when there aren’t any professional barriers, and everybody can hear the music the way it lacks to be heard,” Babyface said in an Instagram video.
Riley later explained it on Instagram as “just like a boxing competition, something goes crazy we gotta do it again.”
Babyface declared the battle last week on his birthday.

While many thought the highly anticipated conflict was cancelled because one of the songwriters caned out due to heated pressure, Riley rid up any rumours and misunderstandings about what went down earlier that week.
“There is no backout,” he stated Charlamagne Tha God on Instagram Live. “Nobody is backing out. Babyface is pushing forward, and he’s not 100%. He’s been ill.”
He stayed, “We pulled back because we need this done right. We don’t want the [feed to stop after an hour on]…Instagram. That’s the main logic why.”

For any Instagram Live gathering, it’s limited to one hour. Later, the feed stops. Previously many artists, including the battle between T-Pain and Lil Jon on Saturday night, continued once people logged back on.
Riley hinted that the battle with now appears on “a new system”, and fans will be capable to “swipe up” to watch live.
“The company that I’m an associate of, I believed that this is something that would be vast for them to take this to an extra level,” he added.
In addition to requiring to use a more enhanced technology, Riley and Babyface required celebrity mediators.
“We both have the honour for each other, and that’s the one point that’s a plus. That’s my elder brother,” Riley said.
Swizz Beatz, who has been leading the music battles along with Timbaland, first announced the postponement via his Instagram page.
“The date is changed, but keep your outfits on deck because the new date is coming back ASAP,” Swizz wrote early on Sunday. “We’re taking the quality to the next levels for these 2 Kings. You will understand later, trust me.”
